Strictly Come Dancing contestant Chris McCausland has told the BBC that people's views of disabilities are "antiquated". Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, he said his participation on the show is "extreme" but hopes it will "go some way in stretching people's ideas of what is possible for a person with disabilities".

Chris is currently competing on the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing with professional Dianne Buswell, making him the first blind contestant to appear on the show. Saturday night's live show (November 2) saw the pair dance a Tango to 'Rock And Roll All Nite' by KISS, earning them an overall score of 29 from the judges.

Strictly's Chris McCausland joked that he will have something to say to show bosses if he ends up being the first to dance again.
