The 2025 season of the Indian Premier League is expected to be a spectacular affair as the league's governing body has officially released the new player regulations and norms for the upcoming auction before the new season.

A fixed salary purse of Rs 12.60 crore in addition to the auction cum retention purse of Rs 120 crore will have to be kept by the franchises for next season.

Each franchise can retain a maximum of six players through retentions and the Right To Match (RTM) option. Teams are free to use as many retentions and RTMs under this limit with the restriction of a maximum of five capped players (Indian and overseas) and a maximum of two uncapped players.

Each of the 10 IPL franchises is allowed to retain up to six players, without any restrictions on nationality, including one uncapped player, in preparation for the 2025 player auction scheduled for later this year.
