Ram Mandir's chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das questioned the purity of ghee being sold nationwide and demanded a ban on prasad prepared by external agencies.

The development comes amid calls for reforms in the preparation and distribution of prasad across Ayodhya, Prayagraj, and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh

Acting on a request from a devotee, the food safety department of the UP government collected samples of the prasad served at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and sent it for testing to a government lab in Jhansi.

Ayodhya: The chief priest of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, on Thursday, sought a complete ban on the prasad prepared by external agencies and also questioned the purity of ghee being sold nationwide. The chief asserted that 'prasad' should be prepared under the supervision of temple priests only.
