Scottish leader backs case for independence 10 years after failed poll
Scotland's leader John Swinney said Wednesday that the country's pro-separatist movement must build on the "overwhelmingly positive legacy" of the 2014 independence referendum to secure a split from the UK.

10 years on, let’s put Scottish independence to rest
As Scotland commemorated the 10th anniversary of the separatists’ defeat in the 2014 referendum, it was inevitable that the SNP would seek to signal its continued pursuit of independence. Ten years on from Scotland’s independence referendum

Scotland closer to independence now than in 2014, insists Swinney
Scotland is closer to independence than it was in 2014, the First Minister has insisted. SNP leader John Swinney made the claim at an event marking the 10th anniversary of the historic ballot - which saw 55% of voters reject independence and support remaining part of the UK.
